Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) is taking a monumental step towards greener, more sustainable transportation through its groundbreaking Electric Bus Project. The initiative, unveiled by city officials in July 2021, will revolutionize urban transit in the city by introducing a fleet of cutting-edge electric buses.
The Electric Bus Project offers benefits including quieter and cleaner transportation, decreased reliance on fossil fuels, and improved public health. By phasing out traditional diesel buses, the city expects to make significant progress in reaching its environmental goals, fostering a cleaner and healthier future for its residents. The project stands to elevate Halifax’s reputation as a forward-thinking and environmentally conscious city, while also stimulating job opportunities and local economic growth.
Colliers Project Leaders and Arcadis IBI Group are partnering to help HRM successfully deliver the Electric Bus Project, combining our company’s project management expertise and Arcadis’ technical knowledge of electrification of transit fleets including the charging and maintenance capabilities to use these new buses effectively.
We are committed to supporting HRM by helping maximize project outcomes to positively impact both the community and environment.
