Grassy Narrows First Nation recently announced the initiation of its highly anticipated health centre project. Valued at $19 million, this transformative project is a significant step forward in providing safe healthcare for the local community. Initially planned as an expansion and renovation, Grassy Narrows successfully advocated for an entirely new health centre in addition to other critical community projects. Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) announced funding for the health centre in the spring of 2023.
Grassy Narrows hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on June 29 to mark the official start of construction for the project. The event united community leaders and members, health centre staff and the project team to celebrate this exciting milestone. As the project progresses, our Colliers Project Leaders team remains committed to ensuring the successful delivery of the new health centre. The state-of-the-art facility is expected to reach substantial completion and occupancy in 2025.
